Energy Policy Supporting Renewables
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Development of Uganda, Honorable Syda Bbumba will present the energy policy of the country and how this policy supports the introduction of renewables as the best solution in many cases to alleviate energy poverty and increase access of the population to modern energy services.
She will also present some of the success stories and activities going-on in Uganda to electrify rural areas for productive and social use and to solve the problems linked to biomass energy. She will highlight different ways used in Uganda to reach the population through multidimensional awareness and education campaigns.
She will explain the different opportunities for the national and international private sector to invest in the renewable energy business (hydropower, solar, biomass, geothermal, peat) in Uganda.
