Renewable Energy in America: Presentations & Discussion on the State of Renewable Energy Policy, Programs, Markets and Industry in the U.S.
The deployment of renewable energy is accelerating around the world in response to emerging technologies, available local resources, favorable economics, and supportive public policy. This is especially true in the United States, where these factors vary among the 50 states. Wind power is being developed across the Great Plains states. Geothermal energy is in the West. Solar energy is generally in the Southwest. Hydropower is in the Northwest and Southeast and biofuels are prevalent in the farming states. Almost every state however has the potential to utilize every renewable energy option, giving state - and local-level policy great relevance, supplemented by federal tax incentives and RD&D; and deployment programs.
This US Side Event entitled Renewable Energy in America characterizes the current conditions of and outlooks on policy, programs, markets and industry at the federal, state and local levels in a series of 5-10 minute presentations, followed by Q&A; with the audience.
