Worldwatch Institute (USA), Germanwatch (Germany), TERI (India) and Institute for Sustainable Energy Policies (Japan):
Lessons from the Frontline: Who's Succeeding with Renewable Energy and Why

The booming world markets for solar and wind power technologies are each dominated by 4 to 6 countries that between them have over 80 percent of the total installations to date. This remarkable domination of new energy sources by nations that represent a small fraction of the world economy and of the available renewable resource base results from specific policy decisions that those nations have made.

This side event will include renewable energy industry and policy experts from Germany, Japan, India, Spain, and the U.S. state of Massachusetts. They will explain why they have become renewable energy market leaders-and how others can do the same.
