United Nations Development Programme (UNDP):
Book Launch: Financing Mechanisms & Delivery Methods for Solar PV Initiatives: Experiences and Lessons from Africa

At the event a new publication on 'Financing Mechanisms & Delivery Methods for Solar PV: Experiences from Africa' will be launched. This publication provides an overview of experiences to date with Solar Photovoltaic (PV) programmes in Africa, particularly with regard to lessons learned on financing mechanisms and delivery methods for PV market development. The study is part of UNDPs effort to promote horizontal learning between projects for sustainable PV market development in developing countries.

The aim of the publication is to provide guidance on PV financing and delivery methods to PV practitioners including PV companies, donor-supported PV projects, government departments, consultants and experts involved in PV initiatives. Certainly, many of the lessons can also be applied outside the African context. The first printed hard copies will be available at the event.

A panel discussion at the event will provide opportunities to discuss the experiences to date of financing and delivery models for creating sustainable PV markets. The panel will consist of Solar PV, renewable energy and finance experts, and representatives of PV projects from Africa.
