e5, European Business Council for Sustainable Energy:
Investment Security for Renewable Energies

The Investment Security for Renewable Energies (ISRE) initiative is based on the desire of renowned international businesses to enter into a renewable energy-driven future. ISRE rallies the business community through a coalition of the willing and encourages policy-makers to adopt investment security measures as a crucial precondition for releasing the potential of renewable energies. ISRE companies usually do not directly participate in the renewable energy business, but come from the transport sectors, as well as telecommunication, oil and gas, etc. Their engagement in renewable energies would probably grow bigger if they were not hindered by various investment barriers. Governments could help them overcome these hurdles for increased entrepreneurial action. ISRE is presented by the Business Councils for Sustainable Energy in Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia, in co-operation with the European Climate Forum (ECF).
