In addition to the official sessions there will also be
Side
Events and an
Exhibition on all four conference days, as
well as various
Evening Receptions, which journalists are
welcome to attend.
Furthermore, other organisers have arranged events especially for
journalists. The following are known so far:
- The federal German state of North Rhine-Westphalia is
organising three half-day excursions specially for journalists
in the afternoon of 2 June, each taking in two model energy
projects.
Tour A: Biomass and Solar Energy: Use of biomass to
generate energy at Hof Loick in Dorsten and life in a solar
housing estate at Gelsenkirchen-Bismarck
Tour B: Fuel Cells and Wind Energy: Centre for Fuel Cell
Technology in Duisburg and NRW Wind Test Site in Grevenbroich
Tour C: Energy Efficiency: Energy contracting projects at
Rheinische Kliniken, Bonn and Michelin Kronprinzenwerke, Solingen

- Deutsche Post World Net is inviting all journalists accredited
at renewables 2004 to visit the Post Tower located close to
the IKBB on 2 June. More information on the programme is available

- Within the context of renewables 2004 the German Federal
Foreign Office is inviting approx. 30 - 40 foreign
(specialist) journalists and multipliers to Germany on a
fact-finding mission concerning environmental protection and
renewable energies. The programme for these guests of the German
government is being drawn up by the visitors service of the
Goethe-Institut and will include attendance/press observation at
the conference from 1 - 4 June 2004. The local embassies will
decide on the selection of the candidates in consultation with the
German Federal Foreign Office (Department K). Further information
