The conference will address themes of significant political,
economical and technological complexity. In order to prepare the
ground for fruitful and result-oriented discussions in Bonn the
convenors prepare a set of conference documents.
Conference
issue paper
This paper concentrates on the most important issues to be
addressed at the Bonn conference and will provide guidance to the
thematic and political discussion. It will not deliver normative
answers but raise relevant questions concerning the challenges of
renewables 2004. Drawing on the thematic background papers and the
results of the regional preparatory meetings as well as on the
advice of the International Steering Committee, the final version of the conference issue
paper is expected to be published by April, 2004.
Thematic background papers
Based upon the discussion within the International Steering
Committee, the convenors have selected twelve themes which will
result in thematic background papers. These papers describe the
broad range of subjects concerning the promotion of renewable
energies and lead the conference participants to recent developments
in the international political and professional debate. They will
open the readers mind to the challenges of renewable energies. The
thematic background papers will be prepared by outstanding
international experts and will reflect the authors views and
opinions. They will be published under the authors names on the
conference webpage by December 15 and will form part of the
conference documentation. Currently, thematic background papers will
be prepared under the following (tentative) titles.
