Sustainable Renewable Energy Development and Regional Development Banks: Experiences and Opportunities

The Regional Development Banks have been actively involved promoting
sustainable renewable energy resources through investment and technical
assistance activities coordinated with the countries of their respective
regions. This side event will provide an information forum in which
representatives of the Regional Development Banks will summarize their
activities, lessons learned, and their perceptions of key challenges and
opportunities. The forum will contribute to realization of several
conference goals, including an international action programme for renewable
energy activities, guidance for effective policy, and opportunities for
financing new and additional renewable energy activities.

The Side event is being organized by the IADB, EBRD, ADB and AFDB in
collaboration with the UNFCCC secretariat.
